I hope that everyone had a wonderful labor day. Our labor day fun was had on Sunday with a BBQ. We had lots of great food and good company! The dinner was well worth the craziness I had endured earlier in the day. I had taken "B" and "A" to the grocery store to pick up some last minute things for the dinner. First, we were almost run into while trying to find a parking spot. Normal for the Wal-mart parking lot as most people are very impatient. So, we go inside and "A" will not sit in the seat for anything! So, I allow her to sit in the back of the cart because I am only getting a few things. In the produce section, I asked "B" to get me a plastic bag while I looked at the tomatoes. A few seconds go by and she is still standing next to me. Wondering why she isn't getting the bag for me, I look down at her. I find that the reason she can't go get the bag is because she had touched one, yes, only one avocado which stemmed an avocado avalanche! LOL She is quickly trying to pick up the ones that had fallen only to put them back and more fall on the floor. So, we get the bag for my tomato and move on. I started to steer the shopping cart slowly away from the display only to have the cart "catch" on a piece of plastic from the display. It makes a loud noise that causes everyone to stare. As if this is not enough, I move on for more. In the bread aisle, I was looking for hotdog and hamburger buns. As I got to my destination in breadville, bend down to look for the brand that I want, a lady approaches my right side. Apparently, I was invisible to her because she reaches right past my face to the other side of me for some torillas. She doesn't just reach and grab and move on, she puts her hand on the package and turns to her husband to discuss if that was the right brand of torillas. Here I am, strange arm across my line of vision, waiting for her to retract her rude self from my way. So, I step back and she puts them in her cart. I go to get the buns again, and she reaches across my face AGAIN! I am starting to get annoyed at this point as I feel she is being really rude. She puts those in her basket and I go about my bun search. A few seconds later, she reaches across my face again. At this point, I couldn't contain myself. I turned to her and said "Seriously"??? She was so offended! She started mumbling to her husband saying something like how rude I was being because I said something and how I shouldn't have parked my cart in front of the torillas! REALLY? I was tempted to tell her that it is a holiday weekend at
WAL-MART of all places. It isn't like there were tons of empty spaces for me to conveniently park my grocery go-getter! Furthermore, had she uttered two simple words such as "Excuse me", I would have gladly stepped out of her way...even if it was three times. Who does that? So, I promtply left the store because I could just feel that something else could be headed my way in the mean aisles of Wal-Mart.
As if that wasn't enough, I braved another store to retrieve my other items. Oddly enough, at this store, everyone I came across was very polite.
*I share my crazy story not to be upset or to vent about it, but to hopefully make at least one person smile when they read it.* Have a great week!
